Milford Mitchell Myers

MILFORD MITCHELL MYERS, of Houston, Texas, born June 3, 1935 in Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday evening, August 6, 2019. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Julie and Scott Miller; his son and daughter-in-law, Bart and Alla Myers; his daughter Laura Myers; his grandchildren, Peter Myers, Sara Myers, Madelyn Miller, Landon Miller and Jillian Miller; his companion, Terry Cweigenberg, his "brothers" from San Jacinto High School and numerous other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Helen Myers, his parents Sylvia and Ben Myers and his sister Inez Cohen. Milford was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and was forever a fan of all things Longhorns. He was a lifelong member of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. Milford was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved to give and never hesitated to sacrifice for others; he never asked for or expected anything in return. Milford was a friend to all. Milford will always be remembered for his charm and sense of fashion. He was very loyal to his family and friends and encouraged everyone to enjoy life and take the time to stop and smell the roses. Milford had a successful career in sales in the appliance industry. His friends always said he could sell people stuff they never knew they needed! Since his retirement, Milford enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling. He was an avid golfer and spent many years perfecting his skills at the Quail Valley Country Club. He also made it a priority to be at all of his grandchildren's graduations, athletic events, dance competitions and any other activity in which they participated while beaming with pride. Milford was their number one fan! Milford will be dearly missed. Arrangements have been made as follows: Graveside Funeral Service: Sunday, August 11 at 10:00am - Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, 1037 Post Oak Rd. Minyan: Sunday, August 11 at 6:00pm - Marlborough Room at the St. James, 5555 Del Monte Dr. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Texas Special Olympics or the philanthropic organization of your preference.
