Edward Mark Rose

Edward Mark Rose passed away suddenly at the age of 58 on Friday, March 29th, 2019. Anyone who knew Eddie will recall his enthusiasm, friendliness, up beat spirit and eagerness to engage you in a conversation to impart his amazing storehouse of trivia. He had a passion for reading and when he would receive a book as a gift, he was so enthusiastic, he would start reading it immediately. He loved all his numerous TV shows and was well versed in sports and entertainment trivia. Eddie was Google before it was invented. He was great at Jeopardy and was often able to respond before the contestants. Eddie's autism did not stop him from being a productive member of society. He worked in the family recycling business for many years. The business was sold in 2000 and the new owner Jerry Bailey kept him on as an employee until he passed away. His life was simple and did everything he wanted to do. He found pleasure in reading the newspaper every day and spending summertime at the local swimming pool. He was able to navigate the bus routes in the city and when he wanted to, he would put his bicycle on the front of the bus and rode it to places the bus didn't have access to. Aside from having a weekly housekeeper to wash his clothes and clean his house, Eddie was self-sufficient and able to prepare meals for himself. It was inspiring to see how capable he was at living independently. Every year at the High Holidays, you could find Eddie riding his bike to the Synagogue and staying until he was satisfied that he had done his annual duty. He had a strong sense of Judaism. We will truly miss him. Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Levine Rose and is survived by his father, Jules (stepmother Janice) Rose and brother, David (Edith) Rose, stepfather Art Rubenstein, stepbrothers and stepsisters Rachelle (Jay Maulsby)Rose, Sandi (Dennis) Pontius, Jon (Jessi) Rubenstein, Glen (Laura) Manna. We are humbled by the outpouring of emails, sympathy cards, phone calls, Facebook messages, and numerous donations made in Eddie's name.
