Sari Robinowitz Elins

Born on November 10, 1935, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, at The Legacy Midtown Park, 8240 Manderville Lane, Dallas, TX 75231. Rabbi Michael Cohen will officiate. Sari was the cherished daughter of the late Ann Pulitzer Robinowitz and Paul Robinowitz. She spent her childhood in New Orleans, where she graduated from Isadore Newman High School. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on special education and proudly became a founding sister of the Sigma Delta Tau chapter. Sari was a dedicated professional, working as a realtor. During this time, she found the love of her life, Jay Elins. Their relationship was a beautiful example of commitment and love, lasting 30 wonderful years until Jay’s passing in 2016. She loved flowers, animals, great food, travel and never met a stranger. Her home was always filled with the aroma of her cooking and the warmth of her hospitality. She had a talent for bringing people together, often hosting grand holiday dinners that left lasting memories for all who attended. Sari's quick wit, sharp tongue, and sense of humor were her trademarks, endearing her to everyone who knew her. Sari's love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her daughters, Allison Singler (Jeff) of Dallas, Texas; Hillary Robinowitz-Elins, MD (Robert Gilliland) of Davidson, NC; her beloved grandchildren, Kendall, Rachel, and Morgan Gilliland; and her brother, Daniel Robinowitz. She is also fondly remembered by her niece, Anna Aronowitz (Jim), great-nephew Matthew, and great-niece Riley and nephew, Andy Robinowitz (Lytsa), along with her great-nieces Melissa and Julia. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at The Legacy at Midtown Park. Their loving care and support provided comfort to Sari in her final years, and their dedication is deeply appreciated. Sari's spirit, warmth, and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
