Patricia Markowitz

Our Beloved and Devoted Mom, Patricia Ann Nathan Markowitz entered eternal life on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the age of 75 following a wearisome battle with Huntington's Disease. With a love surrounded by the halo of eternity she was encircled by her children, grandchildren, devoted friends, and the most Amazing Staff at Seven Acres who cared for her the past 18 years. Born in Silver Springs Maryland on February 13, 1942 and raised her younger teen years in Montgomery Alabama she joins her loving Daddy, Irving Stanley Nathan, her tenacious Mommy, Ruth Shinbaum Nathan and her beautiful big sister Barbara Gail Nathan Brenner in eternal life. Known to all as Aunt Patsy, Patsy Ann, Trish, Aunt Pat, Grandma Pat and Mom, she could light up any room with her effervescent smile, dimples and contagious laugh. She would schlep her babies from Little League Baseball, Fun Football, Ballet at Edna Herzog's, Phil Hansel's swim lessons and spent many nights driving us around wrapping houses. She shined all these qualities in her home on Cheena where the door was always revolving with kids, family and friends that she loved and adored. She spent many treasured nights with her girlfriends playing poker in her orange gameroom, as each came in their pajamas and slippers with no makeup smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee for endless hours. She adored her Houston Oilers where she spent many Sundays losing her vocal chords as she rooted for her Luv Ya Blue Team. Her perfectionism in her Passover Seders was something she was so happy and proud to host at her home every year. The neighbors always knew it was time for Seder because all of their furniture was in the front yard to make room for all to celebrate. She loved the water immensely, whether it be a beach or lake. She was a horrible boat driver but nonetheless, that never stopped her from getting up at Sunrise with her BFF to take us all water skiing while the lake was quiet. She had a passion for BBG, especially BBG 63, whom she was a member of and instilled that unity into her children. She made sure that when her sons were picked as Beau's of Carsch and Wise BBG and her daughter picked as sweetheart of Esquires that her home was never without fun, laughter, Charles Chips snacks and the occasional visit of the Kips Big Boy in her front yard. Her zest for life and making sure everyone was happy and having a good time will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved her. She left her children David, Larry and Sherri behind because she knew she couldn't take them knowing that they will come home to her again. She had two beautiful daughter in law's Victoria and Jenessa Markowitz and one son in law Steve Blatt, whom she adored especially his chopped liver and never ending visits. She was proud of her 5 grandchildren, Erin and her husband Will Barnes, Madelyn, Haley, Lennie and Chase. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care or the Huntingtons Disease Society of America.
