Miriam "Micki" Adele Sander

Miriam Adele Sander, known to all as, "Micki," passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on August 18, 1934, in the Bronx, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Harry Rubin and Eva Maynard Rubin. Micki’s vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of many throughout her journey. On October 16, 1955, Micki married the love of her life, Robert Martin Sander, known fondly as "Bob." She was a realtor, and he was a Certified Public Accountant. Eventually, they brought their skills together, founding The Golf Spot, a travel agency that uniquely combined their love for golf and travel and created unforgettable experiences for their clients. Micki was also a dedicated community leader. She served as the past President and Chairman of the Board of Snowball Express, an organization that provides support and joy to the families of military heroes lost since 9/11. Her commitment to this cause exemplified her compassionate nature, as she took immense pride in the impact the organization had on countless lives. She was also an Admiral in the Texas Navy Association and a member of several other civic organizations, the Dallas Skal Club, the Dallas Lions Club, and the AMC Cancer Research Center. Her involvement was a testament to her belief in giving back to the communities she loved. Micki is survived by her loving children: daughter Stacy Stavinoha and husband Mike of Kerrville, Texas; son Paul Sander and wife Cindy of McKinney, Texas; and son Leigh Sander and wife Christy Perry of Coppell, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, B. Bender and husband Norm. And grandchildren: Samantha Carroll and husband Brock; Sloane Sander and husband Zach Getson; Cole Sander; Chase Sander and partner Justin Vigil and Brice Sander and husband Michael Driscoll. As well as great-great-grandsons Noah Thomas Carroll and Brett Jordan Carroll. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 57 years. Micki and Bob enjoyed a life filled with love, laughter, and shared moments, including playing bridge together. In her later years, Micki rekindled this passion for bridge at the Carrollton Senior Center, where she delighted in playing with friends. An avid dancer, she embraced life by continuing to go out and dance at Arthur's, even after celebrating her 90th birthday. In her later years, her eyes twinkled whenever asked, “How are you doing, Micki?” as she wryly replied, “As good as an old lady can be.” She will be missed.
