Jill Sevier

Jill Sevier died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at her home in Richmond, following a long brave battle with cancer. Jill is preceded in death by her beloved mother Ruth Bachrach, her father Joseph Lerner, her adopted father Martin Bachrach, and her former husband Mark Sevier. Jill is survived by her daughter Pamela Joy Tomlinson, Pamela's husband Will Tomlinson, and their children Sarah and Louis, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister Toby Newman, her husband Richard, and their children and grandchildren; her brother Alan Bachrach, his wife Patti, and their children and their families. Jill is also survived by her step-daughter Victoria Zizmont and her family, her best friend Tammie Jones and her family, an extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends and former colleagues. Jill graduated from Jesse Jones High School in Houston. She was active in BBYO and was proud to have been the "MIT" Mom for Reichman BBG. She then attended and graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder, a place she loved. Jill was a proud member of MENSA. She was an award-winning bridge player, a creator of beautiful stained glass, an enthusiastic Texan's fan, and a collector of all things "Owl!" Jill worked for many years and retired from Prudential Insurance Company, where she made many life-long friends. Jill was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. After successful treatment, she refocused her life and moved to the Del Webb Sweetgrass community, where her neighbors and friends contributed greatly to her extra years and improved quality of life. She traveled with friends, played a lot of bridge, and was thrilled to witness her daughter Pamela marry Will. Welcoming Sarah and Louis to the world brought her enormous pleasure and satisfaction. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Amirali Popatia and his staff for their excellent medical and emotional care of Jill. Many thanks to Jill's friends in the Del Webb community who provided transportation, meals and friendship. And special thanks to Vantage Hospice who provided care and support during Jill's last weeks. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 4, at 11:00 am, Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 1037 N. Post Oak Rd (at I-10). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the cancer charity of your choice.
