Craig Barry Sukenic

Craig Barry Sukenic was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Allen and Shelley Sukenic. Raised in a traditional Jewish home in Southfield, Craig graduated from Southfield-Lathrup High School, where he played baseball and was an active member of USY. A lifelong, passionate sports fan, his loyalty to the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Michigan State Spartans never wavered. Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Michigan State University, where he was deeply Involved in the Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) fraternity, ultimately serving as chapter president. It was during his very first semester at MSU that he met the love of his life, Debbie. They began a beautiful 35-year journey together, marrying in 1997. The couple moved to Dallas, Texas, where Craig launched his career. Here, they welcomed their cherished daughters, Allison (born 2002) and Sara (born 2004). Together, they built a vibrant life, raising their daughters alongside their beloved dogs, Chewy and Buddy. While maintaining childhood friendships, in Dallas, they quickly formed a close-knit circle of lifelong friends. Congregation Shearith Israel became their immediate spiritual home and community bedrock. Professionally, Craig enjoyed a highly successful career in sales and marketing at IBM, Lenovo, FLEETCORE, SmartSource, and Inspirus. He was widely respected for his unyielding integrity, his ability to motivate his teams, and his deep dedication to building long-term client relationships. Above all, Craig’s greatest passion was his family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports with loved ones, cooking for others, and hosting gatherings by the pool. An expert trip planner, he took great joy in organizing unforgettable travel adventures. In recent years, he also developed a deep love for pickleball, building yet another cherished community of friends. Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nettie and Norman Sukenic (z”l), Dorothy and Arthur Mandell (z”l), and his mother-in-law, Bonnie Siegel (z”l). His memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife, Debbie Sukenic; his loving daughters, Allison and Sara Sukenic; and his devoted parents, Shelley and Allen Sukenic. He is also survived by his dear brother, Josh Sukenic, and Josh's children, Brendan, Lily, and Jackson Sukenic; his father-in-law, Roger Siegel; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margery and Howard Klausner, and their children, Nathan, Carolyn, Eli, and Daniel Klausner; his great-nephew, Boaz Klausner, and his dear aunts and uncles, Larry Mandell, Ely Mandell, Ronald Mandell, Judy Koss, Aaron and DeeDee Berman, and Diane Siegel-DiVita. Shiva minyan services will be held at the Sukenic’s house (6923 Maple Creek Lane, Dallas, TX 75252) Monday (July 20th) through Thursday (July 23rd) at 6 pm. Shiva visitation hours will be from 6 pm until 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Craig's honor to Carter BloodCare Center (where Craig was a frequent, dedicated donor), Congregation Shearith Israel, or a charity of your choice.
