Barbara “Bobbie” Amelia Leibow, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas, on August 8, 2026. Born in New York, New York, on October 16, 1932, Bobbie grew up in Dallas with her single mother and loving aunts. Family was always the center of her world. On a blind date, Bobbie met the love of her life, Joel Leibow. They married on February 17, 1952, and together raised five children: Bruce (Lisa), Rick, Randy (Donna), Lori (Douglas), and Robert (Mia). Her greatest joy was her growing family, including 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Bobbie was a lovely and elegant woman with a generous heart, a gentle spirit, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was fiercely proud of her children and grandchildren and believed that family was the most important thing in life. She was one of the sweetest people you could know, with just enough feistiness in her later years to keep everyone on their toes. She loved collecting antiques—her “treasures”—playing the slots in Las Vegas, Bingo, and the lottery. She also gave generously to charities, donating whenever an envelope arrived in the mail. Her family will forever remember her delicious spaghetti sauce, Spanish rice, shrimp with lobster sauce and seven-layer cake with coffee icing. Bobbie was a deeply compassionate and caring woman who opened her heart and home to so many. She became a “mom” to many of her children’s friends, always making those around her feel loved, welcomed, and valued. She had a special gift for making people feel that they mattered, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Her love, grace, and beautiful legacy will live on through the family she cherished so dearly and in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. A service will be held August 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dallas Jewish Funerals Chapel, 1611 North Central Expressway, Plano, TX 75075. Graveside burial will follow at Agudas Achim Cemetery.
